Henry Birt has worked for and with global corporates for over 25 years. He focuses on governance and compliance and financial operations in complex commercial environments in the commodity trading, renewable energy, energy, telecoms and consumer industries. He has worked with stakeholders, advisors, investor communities, and financial Authorities in Europe and North America. He has been a company director in the UK, Switzerland, the Nordic countries, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Ireland.
Henry’s professional background includes Internal Auditor for Mercuria Energy Group (2012); Senior Executive/Partner with Accenture, leading the Commodity Trading and Risk Management practice for EALA region (2011); Chief Financial Officer for Essent Trading International SA, trading arm of the Netherlands Utility (2008-2010). Founder Partner with Voltere Capital Partners (2007-2008), specialist in financial advisory to European renewable energy project developers. Vice President Finance for Nortel Networks EMEA (2005-2007) the Global Telecoms infrastructure group, advising management during an investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Principal Finance Officer for TXU Energy in Europe (2000-2005) the US/UK Utility and energy trading group. Unilever PLC (1984-1999), finance management roles in UK and Switzerland, including Unilever Treasury and head of Investment management.
He is also an Advisory Board Member to E4Tech, since 2007. E4tech are a Sustainable Energy consulting group specializing in Biofuels, Hydrogen and Fuel Cells, and Energy Efficient Buildings, with national government and blue chip clients across commercial, investment and trade sectors.
Henry is a graduate of the University of Manchester, UK (1984), Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA 1986). He is British /Swiss national and lives near to Geneva (CH) with his family.
