Marie Chamay Peyramayou

Global Initiative Manager

Marie CHAMAY PEYRAMAYOU is Global Initiative Manager at ICTSD. Her role is to promote de mission of the Organisation through the development and implementation of the Global Initiative, a project to establish ICTSD entities at the national and regional levels in China, US, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Mrs. Chamay Peyramayou  first joined ICTSD as Intellectual Property Programme Associate in 2002, and after her masters studies became Trade and Natural Resources Programme Officer. In 2008, she was appointed Global Platform Manager. During this period her responsibilities included the full managerial overview of the Global Platform on Climate Change, Trade and Sustainable Energy. She was also responsible for ICTSD’s project on sustainable bioenergy production and trade and a joint ICTSD-IPC initiative on Climate Change – the Role of Food and Agricultural Trade.

She holds a BSc in Geography (Minor in Environmental Sciences) from the University of Geneva and an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics (LSE). Ms. Chamay is lead author of ICTSD’s report Promoting Sustainable Land Management through Trade: Examining the Linkages between Trade, Livelihoods and Sustainable Land Management in Degraded Areas, for the Global Mechanism of the UNCCD. She holds both Swiss and French nationalities.
