Under the general theme, “The WTO, the Multilateral Trading System and the Current Global Economic Environment,” this session will be a regular gathering of the Ministers to engage in a broader evaluation of the functioning of the multilateral trading system and the future of the Doha Round. Organisers say the conference is not intended to be a negotiating session. The meetings will take place during a fixed three-day period with an emphasis on transparency and open discussion rather than on small group processes and informal negotiating structures.
