A number of countries have implemented fast-tracking programs for ‘green’ patent applications as a way to boost green innovation, a critical component in addressing sustainable development challenges. Such countries include the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, Korea, Japan and more recently Brazil and China.
At this informal dialogue, Mr. Antoine Dechezleprêtre (Research Fellow, Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics) will present research commissioned by ICTSD which examines the empirical evidence regarding these programs and their impact on innovation. The dialogue will bring together a group of experts, delegates, academics, private sector  representatives to discuss the findings of this research.
