The new Growth Coupling between China and Africa: Working to Make Development Sustainable

The International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), Stellenbosch University and the Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) are please to organize a conference on the growing political and economic ties between China and Africa, entitled “The New Growth Coupling between China and Africa: W0rking to Make Development Sustainable“. The two day conference will take place on November 23rd and 24th, in Stellenbosh, South Africa.
Background:
There can be no doubt about the deepering China-Africa relationshiip with record trade between the two regions and increased political and economics ties that are evident in the two coming together for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The conferece will explore this relationship and how to make development sustainable by looking at the areas of agriculture, services, manufacturing and the development issues that arise from this relationship.
