1 February, Online. BASIC COURSE ON INTERNATONAL ENVIRONMENTAL LAW. The United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR) is offering this basic course, free of charge, through its e-learning platform. It will introduce fundamental principles, the law making process, implementation and compliance procedure, and negotiation of environmental agreements. 2-3 February, Paris, France. CITIZENS OF THE EARTH: THE PARIS CONFERENCE ON GLOBAL ECOLOGICCAL GOVERNANCE. 5-9 February, Nairobi, Kenya. UN ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME (UNEP), 24th SESSION OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL/GLOBAL MINISTERIAL ENVRIONMENT FORUM. Members of the UNEP Governing Council will gather to review and discuss important and emerging environmental policy issues, cooperation and coordination with the UN system and civil society, the outcomes of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, and the UNEP’s contribution to the forthcoming session of the Commission on Sustainable Development.
