Trade can play an essential role in climate change mitigation and adaptation. At the same time, efforts to address climate change can have an impact on trade. Against this background it is crucial for the trade and climate change communities to deepen their understanding of these interlinkages, and to connect with each other, so that policies are coherent and ultimately supportive of sustainable development.
The ICTSD Global Platform on Climate Change, Trade and Sustainable Energy seeks to bridge the gap between the various stakeholders communities so that they can understand one another’s concerns and better appreciate the issues that affect policies in one field as they relate to decision-making in the other.
