About the International Trade Law Programme
ICTSD’s Programme on Dispute Settlement and Legal Aspects of International Trade seeks to facilitate access to dispute settlement systems to enable developing countries to make use of the options that are available to defend their trade rights and advance trade objectives.
Over the years, the Programme has established a unique role in the trade law community. It generates research and analysis on the challenges posed by a rules-based system and builds the necessary international, regional and domestic networks for stakeholder cooperation and interaction.
It focuses on five main areas: dispute settlement processes on the ground, the WTO’s procedural rules, conflicts of law and jurisdiction, WTO disputes and works with others on trade law and sustainable development.
