Technical Cooperation

Since the adoption of the TRIPS Agreement, technical cooperation to developing countries has become an important subject of debate, particularly in recent discussions in the context of the WIPO Development Agenda process.

ICTSD’s activities, in this area, are based on the premise that, technical cooperation, from a sustainable development perspective, plays a key role in the achievement of a balanced, pro-competitive, IP system that is supportive of wider development objectives relating to the protection of public health, access to knowledge and transfer of technology.
